publicising your Water Challenge

So you're doing the Water Challenge and you want everyone to know about it. Excellent! Well to put it simply, the world's your oyster! You'll know of a million and one ways you can let people know what you're doing and why but here's a couple of suggestions from us, including a few we used when we did the Challenge ourselves!

  • Tell everyone. And we mean EVERYONE! Don't shut up about it. Tell your mates, your church, your family, your teachers, your colleagues, your pets.......(okay maybe not the last one)

  • Get a blog going and record your thoughts, feelings and what you're learning. Write it all down and let people know you're blogging your thoughts. If you're not keen on writing, vlog it! Make some 'diary-room' style films of how you're doing, maybe even film yourself doing clever things to preserve your water supply.

  • Tell your local newspaper. Papers are always looking for stories of people doing "quirky" stuff to stick in between all those adverts! This is a great opportunity to tell people who don't even know you what you're doing. It also gives you a way in to raise people's awareness of the issues, a surprising number of people read local papers front to back!

  • Use Facebook, Bebo or whatever sites you're on to talk about it. Post links and articles on water, update your status on how you're getting on. Start an event or group and invite others to get involved with you. Change your profile pic to a water bottle.

That's just a few suggestions from us but we'd love to hear of other ideas though. Let us know what you come up with!

for example....
Our lovely Tara, who's on a career break in Jamaica sent us some thoughts about Jamaica in light of doing the Water Challenge earlier in 09. Have a look-see!
