campaign success!

seeking justice in a changing climate
seeking justice in a changing climate

After all those letters and postcards we've all been sending we have achieved the first major win on our campaign for a strong Climate Change Bill.

The Government has announced that an annual target range will be set for CO2 emissions reductions (what we’ve been calling annual milestones).

This success shows our Government is listening to us, that our campaigning is working.  However we've still got to push for two really important changes to the Bill, to make sure it's strong enough to get our emissions under control.

  • increase reduction targets from 60% to 80%
  • include the UK's share of aviation and shipping emissions in those targets

We're making progress but there's still some way to go, we need to keep the pressure up.

Click here to send a letter to your MP asking them to show their support by signing Early Day Motion 736. (find out what an Early Day Motion is by clicking here)

Give thanks that the Government has agreed on one of our key demands and pray for the two other ammendments still needed to make the Bill strong enough.
