getting the media to your event!

You’ve got people, you’ve got a stunt, you’ve even got your MP to agree to turn up – how do you get someone to make a record of this!?  Getting the press involved in your events can give your event that extra bit of weight that’ll get tonnes more people to listen to what you’re trying to do.  So how do you go about it!?

Firstly check out www.mediauk.com it’s basically a list of every single, magazine, newspaper, radio station and TV channel to be found in the UK.  Stick in the name of your town or your home county and a list of all your local press will pop up, but who’s best to get in touch with?

You want to get the phone numbers, emails and addresses for your local weekly paper, a local BBC radio station, a commercial radio station and both BBC and ITV regional television stations.  Try to find out who the religious producer is for your local BBC radio station, they should be really interested to hear from you.

Next you need to write a press release, click here to see how.
