getting sponsored

Here is all the information you need on how to help people get sponsored for The No Slumber Challenge.

In your No Slumber Challenge pack you have a Sponsor Form. This can be photocopied as many times as needed, or additional copies can be printed from the DVD-ROM included with the pack. Please ensure that each form is filled in accurately (with full name and address where Gift Aid is being claimed) and that all forms are returned to Tearfund along with the money raised. If it is easier to collect in cash and then just send one cheque that is fine, but the sponsor forms must be included with the cheque(s).

Alternatively, participants can raise money online with JustGiving. We will keep the information on this page up to date as JustGiving evolves. Here is the latest info that you can give out to The No Slumber Challenge particpants:

Go to www.justgiving.com and click on the orange 'Make your page' button and choose the type of page you want to create (the 'use your imagination' one is probably the best). Then in the search box that appears, type 'Tearfund', press Enter, and click on the 'Tearfund' link that appears at the top of the description. You will then be asked for your email address and can begin your page set-up.

At the top left of your page is a box for its title. It will probably be already filled in with 'your name's page'. In order to make sure that the money you raise is part of The No Slumber Challenge you need to include 'No Slumber Challenge' somewhere in that title. So it could be 'Luke's amazing No Slumber Challenge walrus' or 'Father Christmas wears No Slumber Challenge ski-pants', as long as the name is in there somewhere!

Once you've finished setting up your page you can start publicising it. JustGiving has ways you can do that on Facebook or on a blog amongst others. More info on that coming shortly, but for now have a look around JustGiving's info pages - there's loads there to help you make the most of getting sponsored.
