university challenge

How green is your university? The fact that the 169 universities and colleges of Higher Education in the UK annually consume £200 million worth of energy, makes the question an important one.

Reducing carbon dioxide emissions will not only benefit the planet and subsequently the poor. If our universities can model and encourage an environmentally friendly lifestyle, it will result in a generation of graduates moving on feeling fully conscious of the impact their actions have on the environment.

The template letter below will help you challenge your university to do the following:
- Switch to green electricity
- Promote environmentally friendly lifestyle choices
- Measure their greenhouse gas emissions

Before sending it, use your university's website to find how green they currently are, and edit the letter accordingly.

Take action
