Previously we’ve looked at food and fashion, now we are turning to our finances. We’re asking who’s in control of our money? Are we handling our money in a way that reflects God’s attitude to it? Can our banks be trusted with our cash or are there implications for the poor and the environment in how they use our money? What does God say about how we should handle our money? How can we choose to use our money in a way that prevents that happening?

Brother Roger Schutz, late founder of the Taizé community, said ‘Love Jesus, and express it with your life.’ When you really love Him you don’t want to live any other way. But when you begin trying to do this each day, you realise that even simple everyday choices as well as big life decisions, require us to consciously consider whether they continue to express our love for God or whether they contradict the songs we sing.
So let's begin by thinking about our culture's attitude to money compared to God's attitude to it so that we can begin to think about which values you've adopted and whether or not they help you to imitate Jesus' way of living or reflect a completely different way of living. Ready, steady, go>
