Every day on TV, radio and in the paper, we see the images and hear the stories of the people whose lives are being devastated by poverty, conflict, oppression and injustice. We shake our heads in disbelief, and shake our fists at the politicians but feel powerless to make a difference.

But, no matter how much we care about the issues and want to take action, all of us need to be inspired, motivated and simply reminded to get up and actually do something – not as a one-off – but regularly, as part of our daily lifestyle.

That’s why Tearfund has created resources and ways for you as a student to get involved in fighting aginist poverty.

There are five ways to get involved-

1. Uncovered, Tearfund's student magazine. This magazine will help you get informed, campaigning and praying.

To receive it click here.

2. Uncovered Extra, This action email will help you campaign and pray for change. It comes out during term-time/ Sept-Nov and  then Feb-June. To receive it click here.

3. Uncovered UK interactive, a great way to get active with the poor on the ground with Tearfund UK partners.

To get involved click here.

4. Transform,

Spend from two weeks to four months volunteering with Tearfund in some of the world's poorest communities.

To find out more click here.

5. Take part in a Front room Fundraiser and help Tearfund's work with HIV and AIDS.

The idea of the Front-room Fundraiser couldn’t be simpler: get some mates in, put on some form of entertainment that costs as little as possible, get everyone to pay through the nose to be there and tell them all about child-headed households while you’re at it.
