Like many other 15-year-olds, Abel likes football and thinking about his future. He wants to be a doctor. Why?
‘I would like to help my family and relatives,’ he answers.
It’s more than a dream. Getting decent healthcare out to the people of Malawi is an essential. Malawi today is in trouble. People are only expected to live until their 40th birthday and one in five children under five-years-old is underweight. If you want an example take another look at Abel: he may have the build of a ten-year-old but, but he’s really 15.
Abel wants to use what he has – his energy, his determination, his passion to make a difference.
Makes you think, huh?
